Hey everyone — it’s that time of year again! We’re kicking off our 3rd Annual Toy Drive, and this year we’re calling it Hannah’s Boatload of Toys!

Our goal is simple — to fill the boats with toys and deliver them to the kids and families on the oncology floor at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, the same hospital where our sweet Hannah received her treatment.

Last year, Santa joined us to spread some Christmas cheer, and we’ll be doing it again! Kids will get to visit Santa, sit on his lap, and pick out toys — but we also learned something really important. Many parents asked if they could take a few extra toys home for their other children, because they just couldn’t afford Christmas gifts after everything they’ve been through.

So this year, we want to make sure every family is taken care of — every child, every sibling, every brave little warrior.

You can help us make it happen:

Drop off new, unwrapped toys at one of our collection locations (coming soon!)

Or make a donation, and Hannah will go shopping herself to fill the boat with even more joy!

Let’s come together once again and make this a boatload of love for the families who need it most

 Toy Drive Donation Guidelines

To help us safely deliver joy to children spending the holidays in the hospital, please follow these important donation rules:

  • All toys must be brand new and in their original packaging.

  • No stuffed animals or plush toys (including teddy bears).

  • No silicone or fabric toys — only items that can be easily wiped down and sanitized.

  • No used or opened toys of any kind.

  • All donations should be unwrapped so hospital staff can ensure each gift is safe for immunocompromised children.

These guidelines help us protect children with weakened immune systems while ensuring they still experience the excitement and joy of the holidays. Thank you for helping us make a difference safely!

🎮 What Kids Love Most

Not sure what to donate? Here are some ideas straight from the kids themselves! Every toy makes a difference, and choosing something fun helps bring a little extra joy to a child’s day.

For Younger Kids:

They love bright, hands-on fun! Some of the most requested items include:

  • LEGO® sets and building kits

  • Barbies and doll accessories

  • Arts & crafts supplies

  • Play-Doh and modeling clay

  • Monster trucks and toy cars

  • Dinosaurs and animal figures

  • Paw Patrol, Hello Kitty, Mickey & Minnie Mouse, and Frozen toys

  • Anything Disney — it’s always a hit!

For Older Kids & Teens:

It can be tough being in the hospital as an older kid, but gifts that help them feel connected and entertained go a long way. Popular items include:

  • Electronics and gadgets

  • PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo gift cards

  • Wireless headphones or Bluetooth speakers

  • Mini projectors or small room lights

  • Pokémon cards or baseball cards

  • Journals or art kits

No matter what you choose, your gift helps make the holidays brighter for a child who truly needs it. ❤️
